Photo Biography.
While I have been a photographer for over 50 years and had a fair amount of success, I really don’t define myself by photography – more about that later!
As a photographer, I have pretty good credentials which I see as a reflection of what I have done and about my standards, creativity, consistency, and philosophy but it doesn’t mean that everything I do is great or that I can’t learn new ways to create images.
I have been a photographer for over 50 years. While I have been a company photographer, a photojournalist, and a College Instructor, I have mainly been a small business, self-employed studio photographer.
Some of my credentials come from awards and competitions in the profession:
- 1. Master of Photography degree from the Professional Photographers of America.
- 2. Fellow of Photography degree from the Professional Photographers of Washington.
- 3. Certified Professional Photographer (from PPA)
- 4. Best of Show award (twice) from the Western States Convention of Professional Photographers (hosted by the Professional photographers of California).
- 5. Numerable (I don’t keep good track) first place awards in various professional and other photo competitions.
- 6. I am a past President of the Professional Photographers of Washington.
